How Do You Repair A Rotted Section Of Frame Rail Flange Properly

1. whatsoever proficient ideas on how to set up a rotted out frame? got a couple holes that kinda equal one big hole in the frame part....demand to ready for sway bar mounts

2. Cut information technology out to good metal, make a patch of the aforementioned size or larger gauge and weld it in. Auto should be supported every bit to lot load the area your piece of work on.

   Merely make certain y'all cut out *all* of the rot... cut deep;-) I used the same gauge steel and so that it was easier to weld...

10. Depends on how far the rot goes. It's what you don't see that is scary. I think they make patch caps for that surface area.

    Tack in temporary reinforcement usint 3/4 - ane" square tubing where ever yous tin, including the interior if needed. Bridging a door opening can help continue it from moving if you are behind the A pillar

    Here'southward a repair I did on the finish of my torsion bar crossmember. I sourced a rust gratuitous end, more than than I needed just information technology was nice to take, supported the car on stands from as far front end equally I could, and under the rear axle, cut out the floor pan, repaired the stub end and gusseted information technology inside with some flanges, and plug welded the entire thing back together!
